Bacon made from the belly, with a thick layer of fat. It is very fatty with long layers of fat running parallel to the rind.
Streaky bacon carries a fair bit of fat and is shaped more like a ruler, hence is often referred to as bacon strips. Most commonly fried and eaten as a breakfast accompaniment.
Also used to enhance the flavour of the dish or to garnish meat, fish, seafood or vegetable dishes, as well as stews, soups, salads, pasta, and rice.
