Munkebo Herring in Pepper Sauce is a boneless fillet, freshly caught, seasoned, cooked and canned with the heat of fresh black peppercorns and a tangy mango and chilli chutney.
This style of herring is often enjoyed on some crispy rye or sourdough bread with some capers and pickles, popularly known as ‘Smørrebrød’ in Denmark. It also works beautifully on a salad, sandwich, or a quick snack with some crackers.
